Thank you SO much to @brazospress for the gifted copy of Living Resistance: An Indigenous Vision for Seeking Wholeness Every Day by Kaitlin B. Curtice. And to both them and @netgalley for giving me early access to this book digitally.

I picked up One for All by Lillie Lainoff mostly because I knew the protagonist in this story has POTS. The backstory itself is intriguing, too, but I was mostly here for the chronic illness representation, and let me say up front that I was so happy to see a chronically ill character receive accommodations, make friends that did their best to understand her, and work with them to save the day and the king.

Healing Justice Lineages: Dreaming at the Crossroads of Liberation, Collective Care, and Safety by Cara Page and Erica Woodland caught my eye on @netgalley, and once I'd read it, I also asked for and received a physical copy. So thank you so much to @natlanticbooks!

Recently, I went to a bookstore in Mexico City and searched for books by Mexican authors in hopes of reading more in Spanish. Only problem was, I did zero research ahead of time.

The Future Is Disabled: Prophecies, Love Notes, and Mourning Songs by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha felt like a hug, like a safe space, like communing in disabled company. After reading Care Work by this same author, I knew I would be looking forward to whatever they put out next. Thank you to @arsenalpulp for gifting me this copy and making this reading experience possible!

EDIT: I stand with the HarperCollins Union. I posted this review before realizing thus book was published by HarperCollins (brain fog got me), so I archived until the end of the strike. I'm happy to share it on my page now.

Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya is one of those books I’ve vaguely heard about here and there, but I hadn’t given it much thought until my therapist recommended it to me recently. And I’m so glad I read it!

I truly believe Against the Loveless World by Susan Abulhawa is an absolute must-read. This book was heartbreaking, gripping, and so poignant.
