This post is for the people who have been decluttering for a while now and are now basically content with their space. Maybe you’re still not completely satisfied with your wardrobe yet or there are still too many bottles of lotion in your bathroom. But you’ve made a lot of noticeable progress, and now you’re wondering what’s next.
Intentional living and minimalism aren’t just about decluttering your belongings. The whole point is to remove distractions and hindrances so that you can figure out what truly matters to you. So now that you’re close to finishing with this deep declutter, you can start to reflect on what you want your life to look like.
Here are a few tips and guidelines that will help you make this happen.
Pick out a couple new hobbies or habits to add into your life. This will help you eliminate any negative ones you’ve in the past. Instead of impulsively shopping anytime you’re down, take up learning a new language or playing an instrument.
Come up with a plan for saving up some money. If you have any debt, come up with a plan to pay it all off as quickly as possible. If not, simply focus on saving up money. Having solid savings will help you pursue any dreams that you have, pick up any new hobbies, and take any trips that you have in mind.
Research a new topic that interests you. Really dive in deep. Pick up some books on the topic. Do some googling to find out the latest news on the topic, and maybe even see what opinions are out there about the issue. Find something that interests you and learn about it just for the sake of learning.
Make a list of places you’d like to travel to. Dream big. Even if it doesn’t seem realistic right now, you might be able to pull it off within a couple years. So start thinking about some of the places you’d like to visit, no matter how close or far away they are.
Create a bucket list. I know this might sound a little cliche to some, but creating a bucket list can really help you think about some of the things you could be doing now. You can start having adventures whenever you want. So start making a list of things you’d like to do and places you’d like to see, even if they seem out of reach. You can start knocking them out little by little.
These are just a few of the things you can do once you’re done decluttering. Of course, what you decide to stick with is up to you. The more mindful you are about the habits and hobbies you have, the better. And don’t forget to have fun along the way.
